A message from our pastorÖ
The chorus of one of my favorite hymns sings, Oh how marvelous, oh how wonderful and my song shall ever be, how marvelous, how wonderful is my Saviors love for me. 1 John 4:8 tells us that God is love. I have come to understand in my life that Godís love is not the kind of love one would find expressed on a valentineís day card, but a love that can meet us anywhere. Godís love reaches down into the trenches, into our deepest darkest depths of despair, into our most broken places, and cries out to us saying, ď I know your hurt, your pain, even your mistakes whether big or small, and I still love you right where you are at. You are my child, and I love you.Ē Moreover, God loves us so much that God invites us to come and to let God mold us, to chisel away our hurts, habits, and hang ups, so that we donít have to figure out life in the trenches, but can live life abundantly.
I first came to know Godís love at the age of 15, and since then I have been trying to listen to God so that God can help me to share God marvelous love with a hurting world.
My name is Leah Howe. I am the pastor of Puryear UMC, where we seek to share Godís wonderful love with everyone. I am married to Steven, and we have one son, Asher. You are always welcomed here.
